Mangawhai Players presents Aladdin at the ORT
Event description
Mangawhai Players presents "Aladdin the Pantomime"
For those of you who haven't been to a pantomime before, they are light hearted plays that appeal to all ages. There is acting, dancing, singing, jokes (some terrible) and audience participation. Cheer the goodies, boo the baddie, shouting warnings to the cast ("it's behind you!", "oh no it isn't!", "oh yes it is!") and join in the singing.
The story of Aladdin starts with Aladdin being tricked by an evil wizard who wants an ancient and powerful magic lamp. Aladdin rescues the lamp from a cave and finds that when the ancient lamp is rubbed, a powerful genie appears. The genie grants Aladdin three wishes and his adventures carry on. What would you wish for?
Everything works out for the best in the end and everyone lives happily ever after, (except the evil wizard).
Suitable for children and adults of all ages from 5 to 105. If you spend $100 or more on tickets, you will get a 20% discount.
We would like to thank the Otamatea Repertory Theatre for their extensive help with this production and for the use of their wonderful theatre.
