Workplaces and places of study require us to have a working knowledge of computer programs and internet-based technologies. This course will help you to build the digital skills you need to confidently pursue and engage in work and study. 

This course includes practical, step-by-step activities and group discussions, and will guide you on how to use different computer and internet-based applications to perform various tasks. Laptops are provided for use in class, or you can bring your own. 

To access this course for free you must be a South Australian resident (or hold a valid work or study visa), aged 18 years or older and preparing for work or study, and not enrolled in school or a Flexible Learning Options program.

The 7 sessions will be held on 6-Feb, 13-Feb, 20-Feb, 27-Feb, 6-Mar, 20-Mar & 27-Mar. 
(No class Monday 13-Mar due to public holiday) 
Each Monday class will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

The course topics include: 

  • Word processing
  • Internet browsing
  • Emailing
  • Online storage via the cloud
  • Internet safety, confidentiality and online privacy
  • Video conferencing
  • Netiquette and communication in a professional context
  • Tailoring your resume and cover letter to specific roles 
  • Job searching and creating an online job profile 

Our Community Learning mentors and trainers are there to support you every step of the way. We treat you as an individual. We will help you to feel ready to take the next steps in your learning journey or path to employment.

You will be required to complete a basic assessment of your reading and numeracy skills before you start. This will help the team identify any supports you may need and ensure that this is the right course for you
