Sarah Vaughan - "Sassy” or “The Divine One” - was one of the great Jazz vocalists of the 20th century. From humble beginnings winning a competition at the Apollo, to an inductee in The Grammy Hall of Fame, she was described as “one of the most wondrous voices of the 20th century” and “the ageless voice of modern jazz”. She began her musical journey as a pioneer in the bebop style, she was described as sharp tongued and eccentric and sang with a style of her own. 

Fi and Frenz’s core band members hail from the Limestone Coast SA, with many years of jazz performance between them. Join Fi and Frenz as they pay homage to this amazing musician, voice and woman as we explore her life and music.
