Geddes / Showa 44 / Geddes, Dewhurst + Barker
Hilary Geddes is a guitarist, composer and improviser based on Gadigal Land, Sydney. Over the past five years, Hilary's solo practice has centred around the possibilities of site-specific improvisation, field recordings and soundmapping. Marking a shift in her performing practice, this solo set will feature the guitar-only, and explore durational and timbral approaches to improvisation.
Showa 44
Featuring guitarist Carl Dewhurst and drummer Simon Barker, Showa 44 utilise tuned metallic resonances, rhythmic densities and spontaneous invention via electric guitar and percussion to manifest compelling and evocative soundscapes.
Last set will include a free improvisation between the three musicians.
