Location: Federal Falls campground, Federal Falls Walking Track, Canobolas NSW 2800, Australia
Price: $10 AUD + Booking Fee

This hands-on foray aims to deepen your understanding of fungi and their critical role in ecosystems, with a focus on identification skills, surveying techniques, and the importance of conservation efforts. The session will start with an introductory overview, followed by group surveys in the field.

Please Note: Only one booking is required per family.

What to Bring:

Camera or smartphone for photographs (No specimen collection allowed)
Hand lens and small mirror (for observing fungi)
Warm clothing, sturdy shoes, and wet weather gear
Download the iNaturalist app for citizen science participation

Additional Information: You will receive further details regarding the session and participant requirements closer to the event date. This event is part of "Mycology May," a collaborative initiative aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of fungi.

As we will be going into the field we ask that you wear sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing and a hat for the day, you should bring a warm jacket, beanie, gloves and wet weather gear as the weather on Mount Canobolas can be quite cold, windy and wet....but the fungi love it!
