Mt Kenya Schools Fundraiser
Event description
Mt Kenya Schools Program is a small community program that funds a daily cup of porridge for school children in two Primary Schools in the Laikipia region of Kenya. We feed about 250 young children at the Kihato and Gatuanyaga Primary schools. Life has been terribly tough for these young children recently as they face a trifecta of challenges: COVID has reduced tourism, a major income generator for the region; years of drought have ravaged all of central and east Africa leaving devastation in it's wake, and finally, the war in Ukraine has made food terribly expensive for locals.
This program is simple and direct - to feed the most vulnerable children in this region.
This will be our third annual fundraiser. Each year we aim to ensure an evening of fun and engagement with the wonderful people of Laikipia. This year, we will provide another fabulous feast, with an African BBQ/braai theme (vegetarians well catered for of course), and African music, still to be announced.
