Mt Macedon Restoration Project - Volunteer Tree Planting Day
Event description
Come along to a community planting day, including a social BBQ lunch, to restore former pine plantation back to native forest in the Regional Park.
You'll enjoy some time volunteering to help plant some trees as the first part of the restoration project, with plenty of social chat along the way. The Landcare trailer will have its first outing, bringing lots of tools and tree planting equipment.
The event is being hosted by Macedon & Mt Macedon Landcare, in conjunction with Parks Victoria and DEECA (the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action) who are providing a BBQ lunch.
To access the location - take Barringo Road off Mount Macedon Road and follow the road down to about 200 metres past the turn off to the Sanitorium Lake Picnic Area - Look for Gate 2 and the Landcare A3 sign.
Please read to the attached DEECA safety document, which also lists what you require to bring on the day: UV protection, suncreen, hat, sunglassess, suitable clothing, footwear approriate for uneven and slippery surfaces, and gardening gloves.
