Chicks Who Ride Bikes, Brisbane's largest grassroots women's cycling community, has teamed up with our friends at rideTECHNICS to host this MTB Skills Sesh, just for women.
Grab your bike and a friend or two, and join the revolution of off-road riding – all while supporting a good cause!
March 26 is PURPLE DAY - a global initiative dedicated to raising epilepsy awareness, dispelling myths, and increasing support for people living with epilepsy. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Epilepsy Action Australia. Wearing purple is encouraged!
Choose from a BEGINNER or INTERMEDIATE group, each starting at 10:30am with a dedicated female coach from rideTECHNICS!
If you are new to mountain biking and want to learn the basics, our Beginner Group Skills Clinic is for you. Your coach will teach you the key skills of mountain biking as well as guide you around the trails so that you can practise in a fun & safe group environment. In this clinic, you'll learn the basics about:
- Balance and Control
- Body Position
- Braking Technique
- Front & Rear Wheel Lifts
- Basic bike checks and maintenance
If you're not a beginner but still have a lot you want to work on, the Intermediate Group Skills Clinic is for you. Your coach will help you dial in your mountain biking essentials so that you can easily join in group rides and feel confident in reading and breaking down the trail. In this clinic, you'll learn:
- Dropping roots & steps
- Cornering with speed & confidence
- Linking trail sections for flow
- Flat and cambered corners
- Bermed corners; lines and pumping
- Maximizing grip and traction with pumping
We have a MAX of 8 slots for the beginner group and another MAX of 8 slots of the intermediate group, so get in quick! Bookings are essential.
