Youth 3-Week May Workshop Series | 🧵 Mend to Extend: Fix & Upcycle Your Clothes 🪡 | Three Wednesdays, May 14th, 21st, and 28th | Ages 11-18

SCRAP Education is excited to offer this brand new, grant-funded, iterative three-week after-school program focused on mending and altering clothing. This workshop series is for thrifty artists ages 11-18!

This THREE-week, after-school Wednesday workshop series will be dedicated to the practices of mending, upcycling, and sewing from scratch, not only to extend the life of our wearable resources and keep textiles out of the landfill, but also to explore our fashion creativity and personal style! Each week, participants will learn a new mending or sewing technique, and then work on a hand-made zine centered around a related topic of their choice, ranging from the fast fashion industry to beauty standards to textile reuse ideas.

This workshop series is for young people who care about the environment, who want to expand their sewing skills, and who find comfort in a crafty community! ✨

This workshop is supported by funds from the Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Every day's schedule:
Drop off: 3:15 - 3:30 (Programming begins at 3:30pm)
Snack break: 4:30 - 4:45pm
Pick up: 5:30 - 5:45pm (Programming ends at 5:30pm)

• Title I Student 3-Day Scholarship (FREE!) - Available April 1st at 10am through May 7th, 2025 at 4pm!
• EARLY BIRD 3-Day Package ($215) - Available April 1st at 10am through April 16th, 2025 at 10am!
• 3-Day Package ($225) - Available April 1st at 10am through May 7th, 2025 at 4pm!
  Single workshop days will not be available for purchase, as the project is iterative!
