Much Ado About Something? is an experimental theatrical exhibition. Akin to a readings night or a mini festival, this is a showcase of new Shakespeare-adjacent work. We at the Melbourne University Shakespeare Company have taken it upon ourselves to "reframe" Shakespeare from the words and eyes of emerging Australian talent.

Works on offer for you:

RIVALS written and directed by Jessica Tran (she/her)

The King's Men written by Gabriel Donaldson, directed by Joshua Drake (he/him)

These Good Fellows written and directed by Belle White (she/her)

A Ghostly Experiment written and directed by Sana Singh (she/her)

I am your Spaniel written and directed by Elizabeth Browne (she/her)

Melbourne University Shakespeare Company respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung People of the Kulin Nations, who have created and lived their culture on this land for tens of thousands of years. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal Land. We encourage our audience to look up the work of First Nations theatre companies, such as ILBIJERRI Theatre Company, based in Collingwood on Wurundjeri Country, and Moogahlin Performing Arts, based in Redfern on Gadigal Land.

MUSC maintains solidarity with the people of Palestine and and condemns this university’s complicity in the ongoing genocide. We encourage the community to check out the work of Unimelb for Palestine, Free Palestine Melbourne/Naarm, and the Australian Palestine Action Network (APAN).
