Mudbar Mushroom dinner
Event description
On Friday, 20 June join Kristian Davey, Head Chef at Mudbar who has curated a beautiful 3 course mushroom themed dinner, with mushrooms from West Tamar Fungi and Hillwood Fresh Food Co. Mudbar is a premier waterfront dining destination, where culinary excellence meets stunning views, located on the waterfront in Launceston.
With produce from Mudbar Farm, Kristian’s passion is crafting incredible dishes with the best local produce. This is a rare opportunity to experience a 3-course mushroom themed dinner, with a dessert that is clever and creative.
Guiding you on this culinary journey is Curly Haslam-Coates, expertly blending mushrooms, wines and stories. Curly will be in conversation with Tim Murch from West Tamar Fungi and Jordan Grieves from Hillwood Fresh Food Co. Chatting about the mushrooms they provided, and how they got started in the mushroom world.
Curly is one of Tasmania’s and Australia’s best food and wine professionals, and a great storyteller. You will be in for a night of great conversation and inspiring food.
In 2007, Curly Haslam-Coates completed her wine certification in the UK and won a study trip anywhere in the world. Based on an attractive image on a bottle, she chose Tasmania. Curly says food is everything to her, and she is glad she found a place to live where people care about local, seasonal food.
"People here are so proud of where their beef or fish come from, that they know the guy who dives for the scallops. Like I have an asparagus lady and a potato lady as well. And that's what establishments here are so proud of."
- Optional wine pairing featuring Tasmanian Pinot Noir
