Description

Mudflat Monitoring Citizen Science Workshop

Join us for a Mudflat Monitoring Citizen Science Workshop, facilitated by Flinders University and supported by Green Adelaide.

This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in coastal ecology, shorebird conservation, or hands-on citizen science. Gain foundational knowledge before getting involved in the upcoming field training sessions.

Learn about:

  • Overview of the Mudflat Monitoring Citizen Science Program

    Understand how the program works and what's involved.

  • Macroinvertebrates: What They Are and Why They Matter

    Macroinvertebrates are small animals lacking a backbone that are visible to the naked eye. Learn about their importance as a food source for both local and migratory shorebirds, and view invertebrate specimens under a microscope.

  • Field Training Information

    Details of the upcoming field training sessions will be provided at the workshop. Field training will take place on Monday 18 May, Thursday 28 May and Wednesday 3 June.

Date: 6 May 2026

Time: 5.30 pm - 8:30 pm

Location: Semaphore Surf Life Saving Club, Point Malcolm Reserve, Military Road, Semaphore Park.

Parking: Available at Point Malcolm Reserve.

Accessibility: Venue includes lift access.

RSVP by COB 4 May 2026

Light refreshments, tea, coffee and soft drink will be provided.
