Explore the science of the James Webb Space Telescope through music: Free Concert at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian this February!
Resident Composer David Ibbett and the Multiverse Soloists perform movements from his evolving First Billion Years Symphony, together with songs from Voice of the Universe, scored for chamber ensemble and electronics.
The musicians are joined by scientist Dr. Matt Ashby, Chair of the Center for Astrophysics' Optical and Infrared Astronomy Division. Together, musicians and scientists will shine a light on the mysteries of the cosmic dark ages as revealed by the James Webb Space Telescope.
Join us for the inaugural concert of music and science at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian! Please note, this is a ticketed event---attendees must have a ticket for admission. Cancelled tickets will be readministered to individuals on the waitlist.
This event is sponsored by the Harvard College Observatory. The HCO sponsors a variety of free programs for the public. Admission for this event is free, however, tickets are limited!
These events are held in the Phillips Auditorium (at the rear of the HCO complex near Madison Street and the large parking lot), 60 Garden Street, Cambridge, about 1 mile west of Harvard Square. Parking lots marked for Observatory Staff are open to the public on event nights. Parking is free
