Event description

Sunday 24 September - 2.00pm - 4.30pm

Return to the delightfully warm setting of Mungo Park (Neil and Judy's place in Newlyn North) for a rare chance to see three seriously virtuosic players on the intersection between folk and classical - Big Fiddle Little Fiddle with guest Merran Moir present My Lore, a concert created as a celebration of music making with friends, following two years of lock down. Audiences are invited to this joyous musical collaboration between three accomplished musicians. Merran’s background is steeped in traditional music, song and dance, predominantly from Scotland and Ireland. Jess and Louise - aka ‘Big Fiddle Little Fiddle’ - are known for eclectic fiddle styles, driving rhythms and soaring melodies, taking inspiration from Quebec, Scandinavia, Scotland, and Ireland. Mutual admiration over many years finally drew them together, resulting in heartfelt arrangements featuring smallpipes, fiddle, cello, whistle and accordion. See them in action at the links here, and here, and here.
