Munkus Funkus are about to release their debut album Flying Colour. **** Grounded in experimentation and hard-hitting grooves, Naarm (Melbourne) based Munkus Funkus create unique jazz-funk. Making use of a playful and dynamic compositional style, they take audiences on a journey charged with pleasure, wonder and chaos.

On this night they'll be releasing their debut full-length album. Recorded in a single session at Phaedra Studios with engineer John Lee, debut album Flying Colour showcases the band’s energy and love for live performance. While spanning multiple sonic territories, it’s distinctly the band’s own style.

Be prepared for catchy melodies, spicy harmonies and unexpected twists. Sleazy basslines, soulful horn lines and jungle breakbeats. This is novel dance music played by musicians who love performing it. With elements of improvisation and tunes that continue to grow and evolve, each gig is a new experience.
