Event description

Join us on Sunday 25th of June for an Eco Dyeing workshop at the Murnong Indigenous Garden in Lismore with Helen from Earthstar Magic.

We will be working with indigenous plants to create your very own unique piece of wearable art!

What is eco dyeing?

Eco dyeing is a form of natural dyeing where the colours or natural dyes are transferred onto another object such as fabric or paper by steaming or boiling.

We will be eco dyeing wonderfully soft textured noil silk scarves, which you will take home with you at the end of the workshop.

You will have a selection of carefully chosen organic materials to choose from to decorate your silk scarf. Please note that noil silk is a beautifully texture woven silk that feels more like a well worn linen than a slippery soft silk that you may imagine. The dimensions of these scarves are 1800mm x 300mm and are unisex.

There will be lots of information shared around this eco dyeing process, how to work with other materials and what mordants you can use at home, so that you can continue learning outside of the workshop.

The cost of this workshop includes all materials, plus a light lunch (please advise us of any dietary requirements when booking). You will come away with your beautiful eco dyed scarf, plus knowledge around the eco dyeing process that you can apply at home.

Places are strictly limited to 16 participants - you must book if you wish to attend.
