Murray carbon bus trip
Event description
Hop on board a guided bus tour showcasing real-world carbon farming. Visit a vegetation carbon project, explore soil carbon trials, and hear from landholders.
Event details:
Join Murray Local Land Services for a guided bus tour to see carbon projects and trials in action:
Step into a vegetation carbon site that will produce ACCUs and learn how carbon projects are planned and planted.
Visit a soil carbon trial measuring how Australian grain growers could increase the level of their soil organic matter and return carbon to the soil.
Take part in a paddock walk and see how a farmer is incorporating a pasture (grazing or hay) into a cropping rotation to improve carbon (in partnership with Riverine Plains)
Visit another innovative biology and emissions trial site looking at Rainstick (bioelectrical seed treatment in canola), multiple microbial products (all designed to stimulate root growth) and Barley Variety Trials (looking at ways to support the development of low GHGe beer)
Hear first-hand from a landholder who has completed an emissions profile and is planning for a low-carbon future.
This bus tour is open to members of Murray Carbon Connections CoP, as well as to landholders and industry looking to learn more about on-farm carbon and emissions. Morning tea and lunch provided.
