Event description

Big Adventure. Big River. Big Responsibility.

Join us for the premiere of Murray’s Mission: a fun and educational video series for 3–8 year olds that explores the magic of the River Murray and how to care for it.

This screen-to-action journey for young learners will inspire a love for the River Murray through music, story, and nature-based fun.

Murray's Mission Trailer!

The event will be hosted by Lucy from Sea Star Rock (and co-star of Murray’s Mission), who will bring the story to life with songs, actions, and plenty of energy. Before the film, Lucy will lead the kids in a lively call-and-response to teach the song actions, so everyone can join in the fun. After the screening, she’ll guide the audience through a game.

Then, South Australian visual artist Rebecca McEwan will guide kids and families in a hands-on workshop, where everyone can create their own magical river cup using air-dry clay.

The session will also feature Uncle Moogy (another star of the film, TBC).

Perfect for families and young changemakers, this interactive screening is a playful and empowering way for children to connect with the story of the Murray River — and discover how they can help protect it for the future.

Please note, children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

This partnered Event is proudly brought to you by Conservation SA, Fastbreak Films, Seastar Rock, The Murray-Darling Conservation Alliance, SA Water and the Department for Environment and Water; with support from the Adelaide Sustainability Centre as part of the 2025 Nature Festival Program.
