Event description

You’re invited to Muse at The Mews

Muse is a casual gathering with presentations about art, design and ideas.

Join us on Thursday 24 July as Jo and Pam Gaunt take us on a journey with their presentation of Weird, Wondrous, & Whimsical Vignettes: A Peek at Milan Design Week 2025.

Milan Design Week is one of the major annual events in the design world, combining the Salone del Mobile (furniture fair) and the Fuorisalone (city-wide fringe events). It showcases the cutting edge in furniture, lighting, and design, attracting designers, industry professionals, and visitors from around the globe.

Pam and Jo bring us a dispatch of the most inspiring, surprising and playful moments from their visit.

Pamela Gaunt is a former Senior Lecturer in Art, Director International, School of Design & Art, Curtin University. She holds: a BA (Art) and Postgrad Dip from WAIT/Curtin University; Masters by Research degree (art history/theory), The College of Fine Art (COFA), UNSW; and has received several significant grants. Gaunt has a long-standing art practice that connects to architecture, design, or liminal spaces of these. She exhibits work inter/nationally and has significant experience in creating public art. She works with a broad range of mediums and processes, including illumination and is currently a self-employed professional artist.

Jo Gaunt is a former teacher and business owner. She holds a bachelor's degree in Social Science, minoring in Visual Arts (ECU); Diploma Education in Primary (ECU); and a recent graduate from the Advanced Diploma, Product Design (NMtafe) course. Currently, she works part-time facilitating workshops for The Smith Family, whilst working on her own design brand, producing thoughtful objects and products that consider circular design.

We would love to see you there!
