MUSIC AND ART NIGHT AT THE GALLERY WITH MONTEFIORE TRIO
Event description
MUSIC
The Montefiore Trio return to Gallery One with another exquisite program!
Indulge your musical guilty pleasures with music from the heady fragrances of the Alhambra Myrtle Gardens in Spain, Tchaikovsky to Piazzolla, opera to ragtime.
Music for the seasons, and from yesteryear will surround you in an up close and personal evening.
We can’t wait to share the music we have fallen in love with – music that is just too beautiful for words…
The Montefiore Trio
The Montefiore Trio have come together to indulge in their love of performing a mix of beautiful, moving and eclectic music. We hope today’s music will be inspiring and calming at a time when there is so much tragedy and heartache in the world.
Shirin Lim – Violin
Born in Singapore, Shirin migrated to Adelaide with her family. After completing anHonours Degree in Performance at the University of Adelaide, she continued her studies in Germany. While living there for several years, Shirin managed to participate in masterclasses and courses in Europe. On her return to Adelaide, Shirin won the position of Principal 1st Violin in the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. In April 2022 she retired after 32 years in the ASO. Aside from orchestral playing, Shirin enjoys playing in chamber ensembles and teaching.
Claire Oremland – Cello
Originally from NZ, Claire arrived in Adelaide after completing a music degree in Auckland, and further studies in London. After 20 years in the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and more study, she moved sideways into Arts Management. This included running the highly successful Elder Hall Lunchtime Concert Series and managing Adelaide Youth Orchestras. After that break, she realised how much she loved music and the cello. Dusting off the cobwebs, Claire is now enjoying a journey of rediscovery through playing again and teaching.
Lillian Camphausen- Piano
Born in Malaysia, Lillian spent her early childhood in Singapore and moved to Adelaide in 1969 where she studied piano with Noreen Stokes and Clemens Leske. After living in Germany, Brisbane and Sydney for 40 years, Lillian is very happy to be back in Adelaide and enjoys playing chamber music.
