Event description
You are invited to attend the Music and Sound Design student showcase which also features a premier performance of 'Together Apart,' compositions for world chamber music ensemble, by Sydney-based composer and UTS lecturer in Music and Sound Design, Dr Brent Keogh.
Written during the Covid-19 lockdown, the pieces reflect the tensions of that time but also hope for renewal. This original work of world chamber music performance features Brent on oud and mandola, Katie Anderson on flute and Maharshi Raval on Indian tabla player.
Music and Sound Design student works being featured:
- Algorithmic Synthesis by Jasper Devir - an audio and visual installation that continuously generates an ever-changing ambient soundscape that dynamically sonifies its surrounding environment. Utilising proximity sensors and a temperature sensor this experience is generated based on its surroundings, theoretically creating largely different sonic landscapes depending on its environment.
- I Miss You by Jack Albert Horton - An original song in a contemporary folk/pop style including the autoharp a traditional folk instrument.
This event is part of the UTS FASStival 2024 program.
