Music as Medicine
Description
There are precious moments when a song reaches you and invites you to be still, to feel safe enough to listen with your full being. We are extending the invitation for you to join in a night of community filled with heart-centered music, story, and Spirit.
Our intention is simple and heartfelt: to open our voices, our instruments, and our hearts in relationship with the plant teachers who've so generously shared their wisdom with us. We believe music is not meant to be performed, it is meant to be received, like a subtle melody heard between leaves, like a rhythm the body remembers before the mind does. When we remember this together, we create a space where all of us are held and honored. In this space, the medicine of each distinct voice can be heard, and together we create the harmonious sound of a loving community.
We are not hosting a concert. We are inviting you into a co-creative field where your presence is welcomed, felt, and honored.

Meet Your Hosts
Christopher Henry
Christopher Henry is the closest thing found on this majestic earth to bluegrass embodied. Raised by his parents Murphy and Red Henry, he toured and played music with them from the time he could walk, learning it all by ear with not a single sheet of music in sight. His path has since meandered through hip hop, punk rock, and years of leading his own bluegrass band, but lately his greatest fascination lies in the soul-stirring melodies of traditional Peruvian healing songs called Icaros. Since his first trip to the Amazon in 2016, working with medicinal plants and trees has enhanced his whole being- body, voice, mind, heart, and soul- in immeasurable ways. He and his angelic wife now apprentice under renowned Shipibo curandero Papa Gilberto Mahua, and together facilitate healing retreats here in North Carolina.
