    Event description

MusicACT presents 'What's in an album?', speaking with nationally renowned artists about the creation of their most recent albums as part of our professional development program for 2024.

Beloved Canberra icon Citizen Kay is a man of many talents, heading up his own artist project as well as being one of the ACT's leading producers and mix engineers, working out of Lake City Records in New Acton. In 2023, he released his fourth album 'so, where are we?',  a culmination of collaboration between creatives that push boundaries that was almost entirely written and created right here in the ACT.

It's a concept record about a character who discovers the never-ending cycles of life and the universe. 'so, where are we?' runs for 42 minutes and is made to be listened to from start to finish, in one sitting, with no pauses or skips.

Learn about how Citizen Kay brought together some of Canberra's best creatives to write, produce and release his latest album 'so, where are we?' as he shares his wisdom and tips on the process from the grant-application, to composition to the visual production.

Join us on Sunday 26th May at Gang Gang Cafe from 3pm to spark your inspo and connect with your peers - drinks on us too.
