MusicACT presents 'What's in an album?', speaking with nationally renowned artists about the creation of their most recent albums as part of our professional development program for 2024.
Beloved Canberra icon Citizen Kay released 'so, where are we?' in 2023, a culmination of collaboration between creatives that push boundaries.
It's a concept album about a character who discovers the never-ending cycles of life and the universe. 'so, where are we?' runs for 42 minutes and is made to be listened to from start to finish, in one sitting, with no pauses or skips.Aside from two songs, all the music from this record were jammed/improvised within a 10-day recording session & then nearly 2 years were spent turning those 'jams' into this final concept album.The album is made to loop back into itself, so for the intended listening experience, hit the repeat icon on your preferred listening platform & allow the album to loop back to track #1.
