Music for Mindfulness
Event description
Specially developed for gifted and twice-exceptional children, this fun and informative course uses neuroscience and music to teach children about emotions, whilst also utilising mindfulness to help calm overactive little nervous systems. This, in turn, helps to build social skills and facilitates social connection.
Each child will choose their own ukulele (multiple colours available)* and then work together as a group to learn a piece of music. Sessions will be interspersed with fascinating facts about the brain, relaxation activities, and movement breaks. This is a nine-week course, running on Wednesday evenings**.
Currently open to all ages! Children will be arranged into age-groups depending on level of interest. We anticipate a younger group commencing at 4pm, and an older age group commencing at 5:30pm.
This is a nine week course that begins July 21st with an introductory session and then recommences August 4th. Sessions then run weekly until the end of term.
**Please complete your booking prior to July 14th to allow time for us to secure your child's ukelele :).**
* course price includes cost of ukelele
** sessions each last 75mins
