Music in Exile: Spring Fundraising Fling!
Event description
The Music in Exile Spring Fundraising Fling is here!
We're taking to the Thornbury Bowls Club for our biannual fundraiser, an afternoon and evening of music and food from all corners of our community.
Music in Exile is a not-for-profit record label and artist services organisation aimed at increasing access to resources for artists from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds working in the music industry. We operate on an ‘artist first’ principle, ensuring that individual artists have ownership over the tools and resources necessary to build viable careers for themselves in our industry. We hope that through this, we are able to contribute to ongoing change and work towards building an arts sector that truly reflects the myriad viewpoints and experiences to be found in Australian society. Our fundraising events are absolutely crucial to the ongoing fulfilment of that goal, and we'd love to see your beautiful faces at the Bowls Club in support.

"welcome those around you with open arms and an open heart"
We live, work and play on land that was forcibly taken from Aboriginal people. There has been no Treaty with the First Nations of this place and the effects of colonisation continue to this day. We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, on whose land this event will take place. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging and recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded.
