The East of West trio plays original music that primarily draws from the rich musical influences of the Balkans and the Mediterranean. With experience in jazz and Middle Eastern classical music forms, the band’s compositional focus is on creating beautiful story-telling melodies spun over rich traditional rhythms, allowing space for open solos and improvisation.

Zannah is a passionate performer and songwriter, who is driven to “evoke emotions laid dormant” in her audiences. She writes highly emotive songs of love and loss that are authentic to her lived experiences. Her music sounds both ancient and modern, a contemporary Lisa Gerrard meets Evanescence, with Tori Amos, Lior and Faroese musician Eivør named as her musical inspiration.
