FLING's Adult Community Engagement Programs are a welcoming space to try something new, or return to your body in movement.
Classes are facilitated by FLING's team of professional dance artists and open to all abilities, ages and levels of experience.

Join Creative Director Beth Lane in 'Musical Theatre Jazz'.

WHAT TO EXPECT?:

Music Theatre Jazz class will move through heating, lengthening and strengthening warm ups, designed to build cardio, movement articulation and body isolation required in music theatre styles.

The rest of class will be spent developing a short piece of choreography inspired by the styles of a classic musical.

Think Bob Fosse angles, jazz hands, and finger snaps - channel your inner music theatre star!

WHO IS IT FOR?:

Any level of experience curious about Music Theatre Jazz
Local music theatre performers looking to expand their dance skills
Any artist/performer wanting to try new styles
Anyone looking for serious fun to get through the last bit of mid week winter!

WHO IS LEADING?:

Our Creative Director Beth Lane is a passionate mover, an experienced facilitator, an anatomy nerd and an accomplished dance artist, rehearsal director and creator.

However, did you know she started out her dance journey in Music Theatre jazz? Hiding under this contemporary dancer is a jazz dancer just waiting to bust out the feathers and chorus heels - see you there?

WHAT TO WEAR?:

Warm layers and clothes you are comfortable to move in
Bare foot, jazz shoes, socks or chorus heels if they are safely heel tipped and clean to protect our custom dance floor.

Class content can be adjusted with support from our teachers to suit your mobility needs.
If you have any accessibility requirements or previous injuries you would like to discuss before joining us, don't hesitate to get in touch.

*This class is best experienced in a series, however casual attendance is available.
