Farmers across Singleton, Muswellbrook and the Upper Hunter are no strangers to drought. This full-day, in-person workshop is designed to bring the community together to share practical, on-the-ground knowledge for managing landscapes in a way that strengthens resilience—now and for the seasons ahead.
The day will feature expert presentations, real-world examples, and practical discussions on topics including:
Water in the Environment – Why Is It So Critical?
What is Carbon? Why It Matters in Drought & Flood
Managing Your Landscape for Farm and Family
What is Verified RegenGrown and how it supports your farm journey
Ecological Decision-Making
Biodiversity and Threatened Species on Your Farm
Q&A with experts and local farmers
You’ll also hear an introduction to the Verified RegenGrown program—a national initiative by Carbon8 that helps farmers measure ecological health, monitor change, and make confident decisions for land and livelihood.
Speakers
Dr Aurelie Quade - Soil scientist and agricultural researcher with nearly 20 years’ experience in Australia and the UK. She specialises in soil carbon, soil health, and practical land management, and is known for community initiatives like “50 Shades of Clay” women’s soil workshops.
Michael McCosker - Regenerative farmer and Co-founder of Carbon8. Mike runs a multi-generation grazing property near Inverell, NSW, where he has led a shift from conventional to regenerative land management. With a deep understanding of soil health, water cycles, and landscape function, he works alongside farmers across Australia to support practical, profitable pathways to regeneration.
Adam Turner Springfed Beef - Adam, with his wife Jody, are first-generation farmers who have built a vertically integrated farming business taking their Angus beef from paddock to plate (@ their butcher shop in Singleton) using regenerative farming practices focusing on maximising soil health and increasing biodiversity, to strengthen the health and vitality of their farm.
The Carbon8 Team Coaches - Meet Rachelle Armstrong, Kylie Woodham and Dr Ernie Harbott who will share their deep experience and be supporting the Regen Grown Program.

Thanks to support from the Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program and the NSW Environmental Trust, farmers in Singleton, Muswellbrook, and Upper Hunter can access the program at a heavily subsidised cost of $50 (normally $1,950), covering the RegenGrown Toolkit and membership.
