The Backyard Ultra is back in Urban Melbourne! Now in its 7th edition, the MVP Backyard Ultra brings the world’s fastest-growing ultra format to the trails of Maribyrnong Valley Park.

This race is all about inclusion and discovery, finding your limits in a supportive, fun environment. Everyone lines up together, everyone is equal, and everyone has the chance to be the Last One Standing.

Choose your starting challenge… and upgrade mid-race if you’re feeling great!

• GO ALL IN – Last One Standing (LOS)

• 4 Yards Only (25km)

• 7 Yards (42km) + Option to Upgrade to 15 Yards (100km)

• 15 Yards (100km) + Option to Go All In

👉 It’s still one competition. Whether you start small or go big, you’re always in the running. Try before you buy, or dive straight into the deep end.

🏃 The Format

• 6.706km loop

• Complete within the hour

• Restart every hour, on the hour

• Continue until only ONE remains – the Last One Standing

This is the only race format where speed doesn’t decide the winner.
You don’t have to be fast, just stubborn.

At the end of every lap, everyone still standing is equal first place. The only question is: how long can you last?
