First Nations Foundation proudly pair with Ngarrimili to welcome you to join us at the Murran Hub for a business finance workshop, My Business Dream with our Indigenous Business Training Facilitator, Lateisha Vincent.

This Community Event is welcome for all LGBTQIASB+ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to attend, our Rainbow Mob.


First Nations Foundation’s business finance program, My Business Dream (MBD) has been created by Indigenous people, for Indigenous people to help provide access to essential learning skills on how to start and run a sustainable business.

We will be looking at the following business start-up topics:

• Side hustle vs Business.
• Developing a business plan.
• Business structures and how to identify the right structure for your business.
• How to develop a pricing strategy for products and/or services, based on your income goal.
• Cost of Goods (CoGs).
• Profit.
• Resources for Grants and Loans.
• Self-worth and limiting beliefs – having the courage (and community) to make your business dream, your reality!

This workshop is ideal for Mob who:

• Have a business idea.
  
• Are business curious.
  
• Have a business in the start-up phase.
  
• Want to learn more about starting and owning a business.

All of our modules are written, presented, and taught with the intention of empowering our people to be in control of their finances, as their biggest investment is themselves.

More About Ngarrimili and the Murran Hub

Ngarrimili, meaning ‘to dance’ in Wadawurrung.

Ngarrimili was established to nurture and support business and entrepreneurship opportunities amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia. We work with businesses, creatives and entrepreneurs through tailored, culturally informed support.

We aim to drive sustainable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander economic success and by doing so, we acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People have been successful in economic development and success for over 80,000 years

We offer group workshops and 1:1 culturally informed support for aspiring and established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and creatives across Australia.

We tailor our support to meet the needs of businesses and founders wherever they are in their business journey. We believe founder wellbeing, through a lense of culture and connection, is vital to business success.

Most importantly, you don’t not have to be a ‘member’ or pay any fees to receive our services. Ngarrimili exists to break down the barriers that have been in place for First Nations people across Australia.

Murran Hub

'Murran', meaning Eucalypt Leaf in Wadawurrung language was chosen as the name for this Business, Retail and Arts Hub in Geelong.

Murran, led by Ngarrimili, is a hub for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals to access and thrive within.

Consisting of:

• Retail store (selling Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander owned products
• Gallery (selling and showcasing the amazing art of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artists and creatives)
• Cafe
• Co-working space (with hot desking opportunities)
• Meeting rooms
• Conference rooms (that can be accessed by non-Indigenous partners, individuals and organisations)
• Events space & Workshops space
  

Eucalypt leaves, a welcome gift, smoked to cleanse, crushed, and boiled to heal. Wadawurrung people would wear Eucalypt on their bodies and men would place them on their spears as a sign of peace to come together with no harm, to gather in peace on Country. Eucalypt trees grow and prosper from the waters of Country, the nourishment that our Mother Country gives. Eucalypt are a connection to all Peoples living on or off Country.

Murran lies in the heart of Geelong and is a place for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community to access and thrive within. The objectives of Murran are:

• To provide employment and training opportunities for mob
• Nurture an environment for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander business owners (aspiring or established) to access and learn
• Inject many back into the Blak economy
• Host a number of workshops and events for the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community
• Provide the wider community with the opportunity to buy from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander businesses

More About Your Facilitator

Lateisha is a proud Wiradjuri woman, and the Indigenous Business Training Facilitator at First Nations Foundation. 

She hosts fortnightly webinars with Indigenous business owners and entrepreneurs, to speak to their experience within their various industries.

These webinars offer cultural insights, expert advice, and a platform for guests to participate in meaningful conversations and connections with her and guest speakers, creating a space for engaging discussions and meaningful connection.

Lateisha facilitates, My Business Dream workshops on a monthly basis throughout Victoria. My Business Dream, aims to equip Mob with business aspirations by providing essential skills for starting and managing a sustainable business, the program aims to empower those with a business dream to go for it and offers sustainable approaches to building wealth creation through Indigenous businesses across Australia for future generations.
