Best known for his one-man variety show, Robert Post has been touring nationally and internationally for half a century. Every time he sets out, he discovers people and places that catch the attention of his quirky, absurd imagination. Eventually, he began carrying a video camera on his excursions, working as a one-man camera crew and production company, and amassing over 20 terabytes of footage (that’s a lot).

My Pathetic Career is a funny yet poignant journey through the American landscape and the life of an artist charting his own course. Ride along with Post as he marvels at eccentric attractions and encounters endearing, sometimes peculiar characters on stage, in restaurants, and wherever his travels take him. Weaving marvelous glimpses of Americana  with Post’s own tales of childhood challenges, confessions of self-sabotage, and the moments that changed everything, My Pathetic Career is as unique as the country itself.
