Event description

Somali-Australian spoken word artist and calligrapher Mo Sudi blends storytelling, collage calligraphy and multilingual verse to share his refugee journey from the Horn of Africa.

Rooted in Somali gabay traditions, Arabic calligraphy, and shaah-inspired healing, each poem offers warmth like tea in cold times. Spoken in English, Somali, Arabic and tribal dialects, this immersive performance explores identity, resilience, and belonging.

A soulful, therapeutic experience, like shaah for the spirit, honouring survival and celebrating culture through powerful poetry-theatre.

Mo is a proud member of the Calligraphy Society of Victoria.
