The countdown is on for MySA’s first-ever Tamale Throwdown! Join the fun at Alamo Beer Company on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 12–4 p.m., and experience a tamale celebration unlike any other.

This event brings together San Antonio’s top chefs and local favorites, serving up their most creative, flavorful, and traditional tamales — all competing for the People’s Choice Awards in two mouthwatering categories:
🥇 Old School Tamale — classic, authentic, and timeless
🔥 New School Tamale — bold, innovative, and full of flair

What to Expect
Your ticket gives you access to exclusive samples from some of San Antonio’s most beloved kitchens, including Alfonso’s Tamales, Milpa, Naco Mexican Eatery, Baked, Jason Dady Group, Olla Express Café, Tio Pelon, and more!

Feeling brave? Step up to the plate for the Tamale-Eating Contest — the winner takes home $500! (information on participation coming soon)
