A journey through ambient and immersive sonic terrains
9 MAY, FRIDAY: 7:30PM
10 MAY, SATURDAY: 7:30PM
THE AMPLIFIED ELEPHANTS
Hot on the back of their success of several albums releases triggered by winning the New Music Victoria Award for Best Avant Garde Work for the production/album Deep Creatures, The Amplified Elephants are back with their latest new production.
MYSTERIOSO BLUE ADAGIO is a sonic articulation of The Amplified Elephants response to a photo of the Earth taken from the Moon. The Earth is transformed by this photo into a slow moving orbital body – an adagio across the moonscape. This is a breathtaking production that combines video imagery of the Earth from outer space with the electronic sound performed by The Amplified Elephants.
The project is electronic ambient sound and sonic art supported by video interjections. Ensemble members perform the work on a cockpit-like stage. Moments of movement occur.
WILLEBRANT
Regular friend of Jolt and bassist for Hullick’s Bolt Ensemble, Karl Willebrant will be performing two nights of ambient electro/acoustic music. Performing his latest release “Stony” on Friday May 9th, which explores the emotions of time and place through the landscape of memory of the Stony River. On Saturday May 10th he will perform a compilation set of ambient fieldworks.
