Mystic Harmonies with Melody of China - (SF International Arts Festival)

Melody of China performs in collaboration with Indian tabla virtuoso Swapan Chaudhuri and his Ali Akbar College of Music ensemble. 

The concert program will include repertoire from minority ethnic groups in China as well as the world premiere of a new work for mixed ensemble: Chinese and Indian instruments.

Artists include: Melody of China's own Yangqin Zhao on yangqin (hammered dulcimer and artistic director), Gangqin Zhao on guzheng (zither), Wanpeng Guo on sheng (mouth organ), Shenshen Zhang on pipa (lute) and Xian Lu on dizi (bamboo flute).  

Guest artists include Swapan Chaudhuri and his Ali Akbar College of Music which includes Indian tabla, sitar and other traditional instruments.
