Welcome to Naavikaran's MYSTIQ at Mparntwe, a live concert with a 100% IBPoC line-up, in dedication to the legacy of queer house-parties.
Conveyed over dance music, club, poetry, RnB & rap, MYSTIQ DISCOTHEQ is Naavikaran's latest music offering. It is both a call to action and celebration, a prayer and perversion. We welcome all misfits, freaks, lovers and magic-holders.
What to expect: A relaxed, informal party-style gathering with music, community and live performance.

This event is part of Naavikaran's first national tour, a 100% community-run, grassroots initiative. All proceeds from ticket sales will be used to support IBPoC queer & trans artists on this tour. If you're interested in sponsoring this tour, please get in touch.
Naavikaran's short-album, MYSTIQ DISCOTHEQ will be out on Bandcamp on the 31st of March, to commemorate Trans Day Of Visibility. It'll be out on all streaming platforms [except Spotify & Israel] on the 7th of May, aka Naavikaran's birthday. It would mean a lot to us if you streamed it.

MYSTIQ DISCOTHEQ is Naavikaran’s electrifying grounding into to the spotlight, fresh from the success of her last two EPs -- CHIQ DISCOTHEQ and FREQ DISCOTHEQ. Naavikaran is a South Asian trans and disabled electronic musician and filmmaker, ushering in a new era genre-bending life force in Australia's creative platforms. With an already established music catalogue ranging from RnB, Electronic Pop, Rap, Spoken Word, Dance and South Asian classical, Naavikaran's music is a call to various threads of community for strength and change.
Spud_king
Spud_king (she/they) invites you to the dance floor to feel anything from sexy to sick of it all - combining the current favourites from local baddies and hunnies while always reppin tunes from the diaspora 🌶️ Drifting between genres including uk garage, drum & bass, jungle, hiphop, all things breaks and bass with a silly edit or earnest sample thrown in there - they live for the small pleasures of unexpected transitions and heaving dance floors. They live and play on Arrernte country here in Mparntwe. Always was always will be, from the river to the sea and inquilab zindabad.
Stone Motherless Cold
Stone Motherless Cold (she/they/re) is an Arrernte gem, currently based in Narrm. Smooth and sensual, bold and graphic, this crystalline being posing as human. They use drag to dabble in performance, DJing, production and painting. They are part of MoCo (the Motherless Collective), a VIC NAIDOC LGBTQIA+ 2019 title winner and 1st-Runner Up Miss First Nations 2021. Stone has previously worked on ‘Alluvium’ Yirramboi Festival 2023, ‘’A Rainbow of Tomorrows Melbourne Fringe Festival 2022, ‘SMASH: the Drag Show’ Midsumma 2022, ‘The Fae’ Yirramboi Festival 2021, ‘The Kingdom’ Midsumma 2020, ‘Drag of Kwatye’ 2019 Melbourne Fringe Festival, ‘Dis Rupt’ Yirramboi Festival 2019 and ‘Lets Take Over presents: The Reveillon’ at Northcote Town Hall 2019.
Crybaby
Crybaby (she/her) is a self-taught dj with a passion for deep, groovy, sexy and bass heavy beats. Shifting between genres, creating high energy sets to get the dance floor moving A proud Bungjalung woman living and creating on Arrernte country.
Access & Content Note
This is an all-ages event. It is also BYO. Please make sure you drink responsibly and care for others in the space.
Children below the age of 12 can attend for free, accompanied by a responsible adult.
The content of the performance may include some coarse language. Discretion advised.
The venue is not formally wheelchair accessible. If you're a wheelchair user, please get in touch and we can inform you of the specifics.
There will be no strobes or flash lighting. There will be no nudity.
The music will be loud [especially for Naavikaran's performance set]. Bring your noise management/cancelling devices. There will be ear plugs available at the door.
We wish to also create a space that is as neuro-affirming as a live event can be. Please bring your stim toys and exist as needed.
This is a community run event on stolen Arrernte country. Be nice. Be kind. No racism or transphobia will be tolerated.
