Welcome to Naavikaran's MYSTIQ at Newcastle, a live concert in dedication to queer & trans club legacy.
Conveyed over dance music, club, poetry, RnB & rap, MYSTIQ DISCOTHEQ is Naavikaran's latest music offering. It is both a call to action and celebration, a prayer and perversion. We welcome all misfits, freaks, lovers and magic-holders.
What to expect: A relaxed, informal club-style gathering with music, community and a performance set of a lifetime by Goddess Naavikaran.

This event is part of Naavikaran's first national tour, a 100% community-run, grassroots initiative. All proceeds from ticket sales will be used to support IBPoC queer & trans artists on this tour. If you're interested in sponsoring this tour, please get in touch.
Naavikaran's short-album, MYSTIQ DISCOTHEQ is now out on Bandcamp. you can listen to it here. All of Naavikaran's portion of the royalties from sales will be donated to Beyond Bricks and Bars to support incarcerated trans folk.
The album will be out on all streaming platforms [except Spotify & Israel] on the 7th of May, aka Naavikaran's birthday. It would mean a lot to us if you streamed it.

MYSTIQ DISCOTHEQ is Naavikaran’s electrifying grounding into to the spotlight, fresh from the success of her last two EPs -- CHIQ DISCOTHEQ and FREQ DISCOTHEQ. Naavikaran is a South Asian trans and disabled electronic musician and filmmaker, ushering in a new era genre-bending life force in Australia's creative platforms. With an already established music catalogue ranging from RnB, Electronic Pop, Rap, Spoken Word, Dance and South Asian classical, Naavikaran's music is a call to various threads of community for strength and change.

DJ Qyto (pronounced key-toe) is a Newcastle-based DJ bringing groove-driven house and global club sounds to the dancefloor. Having played across Kenya and Australia, Qyto blends international influences with smooth transitions and infectious energy, creating sets that are rhythmic, soulful and full of bassy bangers, built to take you on a musical journey. A rising name in the Mulubinba / Newcastle scene, DJ Qyto is known for reading the room and setting the tone — from warm-up house selections to late-night grooves. Drawing from global club culture and underground sounds, each set is curated to lock in the crowd and build momentum.

Access & Content Note
This is an all-ages event. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or appointed guardian.
Children below the age of 12 can attend for free, accompanied by a responsible adult.
The content of the performance may include some coarse language. Discretion advised.
The venue and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible via a ramp. Depending on the width of the wheelchair, bathroom access can be tricky. We want to offer outmost comfort, so please feel free to contact the organisers with your questions if you would like.
There will be no strobes or flash lighting. There will be no nudity.
The music will be loud. Bring your noise management/cancelling devices.
We wish to also create a space that is as neuro-affirming as a live event can be. Please bring your stim toys and exist as needed.
This is a community run event on stolen Awabakal & Worimi land. Be nice. Be kind. No racism or transphobia will be tolerated.
