Nōna te Ao: Advanced Māori Land Research Workshop
Event description
Ready to take your Māori Land research skills to the next level? Nōna te Ao is a full-day advanced workshop designed for those who already know the basics and want to go further. Building on the previous Kimihia and Rangahaua workshops, this wānanga blends practical learning with real-world problem solving.
Held at the Rotorua Māori Land Court as part of Local History Week, participants will refresh key foundations before diving into advanced strategies, tools, and techniques for researching Māori Land histories, reo, whakapapa and more.
The workshop will be facilitated by the Heritage, Research and Archives Manager of Te Taumata o Ngāti Whakaue Iho Ake Trust. With over 19 years of experience as a public servant and private contractor, the facilitator brings extensive expertise and deep local knowledge.
Nōna te Ao: Advanced Māori Land Research Workshop will be delivered in collaboration with the Māori Land Court, Te Aka Mauri, and Te Taumata o Ngāti Whakaue Iho Ake Trust.
