Naarm Guitar inFormal 2026: Showcase and Competition

Featuring a welcoming, community approach, the NGF showcases the talent of young classical guitarists by encouraging ensemble and solo performances.

Volunteers will share their passion for the inclusion of guitar in ensembles, the creation of new and diverse repertoire, and share their love of the nylon string guitar with the next generation.

We begin with Ensemble performances, followed by solo performances by the winners of last years competition.

Next up is a youth guitar competition, adjudicated by a volunteer panel. All performers are eligible for prizes in the following categories:

Professionalism and Presentation

Technical Proficiency

Musicianship and Expression

Competition Rules: Entries must be a maximum of five minutes, of at least one song. To be considered for the Professionalism and Presentation award announcing your selection is recommended. Ticket purchase essential to participate in the competition.
