NADA YOGA & VOCAL HEALTH : SINGING WORKSHOP
led by Alice Miyagawa 


Sargam Vocal Meditation & Indian Singing, combining healthy singing techniques and practice with chakra meditation and the foundations of Indian Classical Singing

Held at a dreamy mudbrick temple venue in the countryside of Byron Shire

Part 1 : Theory, pronunciation, meaning

Part 2 : Toning and melody patterns to cultivate peace within / sargam vocal meditation

Part 3 : Learn melodies and lyrics to a devotional chant (kirtan) and an Indian song


This special workshop is for anyone interested in learning and practicing singing to experience "union through sound" known in India as Nada Yoga. All levels of singers welcome.

YOUR TEACHER : ALICE MIYAGAWA

Alice’s love of Indian music and devotional chanting was ignited on her first trip to India in 1982.

After attending many Indian music concerts throughout her life, Alice began practical study of Dhrupad and Sargam singing in her early thirties when living in Japan, and has continued studying back in Australia. In 2013 she began teaching Nada Yoga and Sargam Vocal Meditation in Kyoto before relocating to Byron Bay.

Alice has been running devotional chanting and sacred music events in Japan and Australia since 2010; as a professional teacher for over 20 years she focuses on private lessons, small group workshops, and singing events. She specialises in harmonium and vocal tuition, and concerts. She imports quality harmoniums from India and is a passionate musician and sound healing practitioner.
