Open to a sanctuary of peace and joy within through the practice of some ancient Indian sound based techniques to settle the nervous system, awaken dormant energy and free blockages in your voice.

Geeti and Gyan are recently back from a deep immersive retreat experience in the Himalayas with their nāda yoga teacher Sudhanshu Sharma. They are excited to be able to share some of the fruits of their learnings, anchored deeply in the traditions of nāda and mantra yoga and Indian classical music (rāga).

In this workshop we will:

Practice yoga āsanas and movements that will prepare the body and voice for expressing and singing freely.
Immerse ourselves in a meditative toning technique that will calm the nervous system, open the different dimensions and resonance of our voices and ground us in the centre of our being.
Learn and practice the empowering Indian SARGAM classical Indian scale which helps to activate, energise and balance our voice and our chakras.
Integrate with a relaxing sound healing of Tibetan singing and Alchemy crystal bowls.
Be held, surrounded by nature, in a supportive and non-judgemental environment so that we can feel safe to freely explore and express ourselves.

This will be a beautiful opportunity to uplift our vibration, open our voices and expand our hearts through sound, mantra and movement practices.

This workshop is suitable for those who have had some prior experience as well as absolute beginners who might feel very shy about singing!

Nāda Yoga, the yoga of union through sound, helps purify and harmonise our gross and subtle energy fields in alignment with our natural vibration.

WHAT IS NĀDA YOGA?

Nāda Yoga is a form of yoga that works with sound as a technique for bringing us into a state of unity and calm quickly. It is especially powerful in restoring our nervous systems to a balanced state.

Mantra and music as a focus for meditation is a powerful and enjoyable way to bypass the busy mind and access a deep and nourishing stillness that resides within us all. Through a variety of sound based practices based on the ancient Vedic tradition of mantra and the Indian classical music tradition we are able to refine our ability to listen deeply, to free our voices and expand our hearts so we may rest in a state of fullness and joy.

Kirtan is one form of Nāda Yoga (Yoga of sound) and Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of the heart) combining ancient sanskrit sounds (mantras) with melody and rhythm offered in dynamic call and response.

Mantra is a vehicle, tool and sound vibration to bring the mind from a state of flux to stillness. When the mind is still, we are truly ourselves – peaceful, loving, blissful and free!

Kirtan and mantra can help elevate our thoughts & emotions, purify and boost our energy and expand our awareness and can be practised by everyone, regardless of age or experience.

Vocal toning is a simple and powerful technique that will help settle your nervous system, enhance relaxation, release stress, bring focus and clarity, boost your immune system, and energise and uplift your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Mantra, kirtan and toning are all components of nāda yoga.

No musical experience is required, just a heart willing to sing, share and receive!

About Geeti and Gyan

Gyan is an accredited hatha yoga, mantra and meditation teacher, kirtanist and singer-songwriter. He also holds a diploma of 1-1 sound healing with the Academy of sound healing.

Their original East-meets-West conscious music fuses contemporary and traditional kirtan and mantra with uplifting English lyrics, and features vocals, guitar, harmonium, sitar, cajon, manjira and flute.

Geeti and Gyan also incorporate celestial and grounding instruments into their opening meditations and closing sound baths, such as Alchemy crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, hand pan, shamanic drum, ocean drum, rainstick, sansula and chimes, for deep relaxation, healing and integration.
