Event description

This November, acclaimed songwriter and New Zealand's sweetheart, Nadia Reid, journeys back from her new home in the United Kingdom's North West for a series of pre-summer shows in a selection of her favourite towns.

Renowned for her evocative lyrics and introspective folk-infused sound, Nadia has been lauded by The Guardian as “an understated, wise guide through uncertain territory” and “one of New Zealand’s best-kept secrets”. Nadia will be joined by guitarist, Sam Taylor, for a special evening promising to be a listening experience of bare-bones beauty and soul.

  • Doors open at 7pm
  • Cash and card bar serving the fine wines of Quartz Reef and non-alcoholic options by b.effect.
  • All proceeds support the fundraising efforts for the Wānaka Festival of Colour.

Known for her ruminative and well-crafted folk-inflected songwriting and described by UNCUT as an ‘impeccable debut will maybe set a wider orbit in motion’ Nadia Reid emerged in 2015 with the well-regarded Listen to Formation, Look for the Signs, but it was her sophomore effort, 2017's award-winning Preservation, that elicited acclaim both at home and abroad. She continued to perfect her deft blend of textural pop and country-leaning folk-rock on 2020's richly detailed Out of My Province, another evocative set filled with elegant melodies and intelligent lyrics.

Reid will be joined as ever by her resounding band; guitarist Sam Taylor, drummer Joe McCallum and bassist Richie Pickard. Reid and Taylor will perform as a duo for two of the dates

Nadia is set to release new music very soon.
