We believe art plays a vital role in helping people heal, through finding meaning, purpose and an inclusive avenue to share their story. We want all Australians to have more awareness of our First Nations Culture and Sonder Studio Gallery’s Ambassadors for First Nations People - Jandamarra Cadd and Cholena Hughes, along with Founding Director Gabby Sutherland welcome those committed to accelerating the pace of change, contributing to a more equal and just future for all. Therefore, we wish to extend this invitation to you, to attend this collaborative exhibition at Sonder Studio Gallery’s 2022 NAIDOC Week ‘Showing Up Together’ exhibition and join with us to show our support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples everywhere, contributing to a more ethical, kinder tomorrow.
One of Sonder Studio Gallery's aims is to:
- Change the discourse for Indigenous artists – To actively contribute to preventing the exploitation of Indigenous artists by providing a $0 commission (excluding NFT’s) and $0 space hire fee to all Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait persons, until such time that there is equity for Indigenous artists owning and operating their own galleries in Australia.
With 'imitation being the greatest form of flattery', we welcome galleries all around Australia and the globe to imitate our aims!!!
