Event description

Naked In The Trees is a festival for the curious — it is an invitation to explore, express, and exhale.

Set deep in the lush landscapes of King Country, our 2026 event will span four days and celebrate music, movement, and meaningful connection. Wander barefoot between a cascading waterfall, natural swimming holes, and ancient forest as the site comes alive with sound, art, and community.

More than just a party, Naked In The Trees is a space for curiosity and courage — where workshops, play spaces, and open dialogue encourage deeper connection with self and others. Whether you’re dancing under the stars, soaking in the river, or exploring new ideas around pleasure and wellness, you’ll find space here to slow down, strip back, and come home to what matters.

Organised by The Naked World, this is a festival where freedom meets intention — and where every body (over the age of 18) is welcome.

THREE STAGES

A collection of incredible live and electronic acts from across the country and abroad will perform unforgettable sets on the Liberation Stage until 3am. Throughout the day, acoustic musicians will pop up across the site — including on the Unity Stage and in Foreplay — providing soulful interludes between workshops and socials.

TWO MAIN ZONES

🛖 The Village
Soak in tranquility. This is where workshops are held, food is served, a market, photo booth and tattoo studio runs, and a large sauna awaits. For a more chilled evening, settle into The Cinema from 9pm.

🎪 The Playground

This is the zone of beautiful chaos - come here to play, dance, bathe in projections, and watch fire throwers and aerialists. This is where it’s loud until 3am.

GET INVOLVED

🦉 Workshops — Covering a wide array of topics designed to deepen your understanding of mind and body.

🌈 Queer Hour — Daily at 5pm in Foreplay, a joyful space to connect and celebrate.

🪉 Musicians — Talented acoustic musicians are invited to get in touch via Instagram or email. We’re seeking soloists or duos to perform across the site, with the opportunity to come together for collaborative evening sets.

🎨 The Art Exchange — Bring your own artwork to display or sell in The Village.

🫖 The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party — Gather under the Grandfather Tree for a whimsical brew and curious conversation.

🪜 Aerial Rig — Watch breathtaking aerial silks, shibari, and hoop performances by the Liberation Stage. Experienced artists are welcome to take a turn.

🔥 Fire Circle — Experienced fire spinners may join in, provided a fire safety officer is present.

🏴‍☠️ Treasure Hunt — Discover hidden delights across the site: free tattoos, cocktails, or even 2027 festival tickets.

🎥 Cinema — Two films screened nightly from 9pm in The Village for those seeking a cosy wind-down.

🍒 Lounge — Our expanded play area now features a dedicated bar lounge — a place to mingle, unwind, or step away from the rhythm of the Liberation Stage.

💋 Wristbands — An optional new system of coloured wristbands to show if you're open to new friendships and/or deeper connections (with all, the same, or opposite sex).

🧖‍♀️ Sauna — Unwind in our 14-person sauna in The Village, open from morning to night. Then take the plunge and cool off beneath the waterfall.

🎲 Tattoo — Get inked by some of Aotearoa’s top tattoo artists. Choose from the custom festival flash sheet or bring your own design.

🎨 Erotica Electronica — Become a living canvas, bathed in moving projections and photographed as you dance.

📸 The Human Gallery — Book a private session with Katharina in her pop-up studio to capture stunning nude portraits that celebrate the beauty of being human.

SWIM

💦 Waterfall: Explore behind a stunning waterfall. We may run floating sound bath sessions here.

💦 River pool: Bathe in a deep pool below the Liberation Stage.

💦 River: The river flows through the heart of the festival ground.

💦 Swimming Pools: These are TBC while we sort out the removal of water following the festival, but we hope to have three pools this year 😮

DRESS CODE

There are no outfit rules at Naked In The Trees! Be clothed or as unclothed as you wish. To give some perspective, about a third of attendees tend to strip off at some stage, so feel free to explore at your own pace.

ENCHANTED will be the theme of NITT 2026 — more details to come.

CAMPING & PARKING

🎟️ Weekend Pass: All attendees will need a weekend pass.

🎟️ Glamping: This is an add-on. Tents are available for groups of 2 - 4 people.

🎟️ Parking: If you are staying in General Camping or Glamping you will need one vehicle pass per vehicle (ie. not per person).

🎟️ Vehicle Camping: If you need to camp next to or in your car, or in a van, you will require one Vehicle Camping pass per vehicle (ie. not per person). If your vehicle is over 5.5m in length, you will need an XL Vehicle Camping pass. Slots are allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Naked In The Trees 2026 will be around 30% larger in terms of offerings and attendance than our 2025 edition. The full workshops and activities schedule is still TBA.

In 2026 we'll be introducing AWOP — a wristband payment system — to make purchasing across the site easier. These will double up as your festival wristband.

We’re so excited to share this weekend with you all.
See you soon! TN.W 🌳🌳🌳
