Event description

Learn how to make a lovely rug using the Amish knot or toothbrush rugmaking technique!

What is amazing about this method is that it uses fabric strips cut off from old linen or fabrics, saving them from landfill and giving them a new life. It's quite addictive so soon you might be trawling op shops in search for pretty prints in bed sheets!

What will we cover?

In this hands-on class you will:

  • Learn and practice how to create an Amish knot
  • Learn where to source and how to select suitable fabric
  • Learn who to best cut and rip fabric yarn
  • Learn to join fabric strips
  • Learn and practice how to start a round rug
  • Learn how to finish off your rug (so you can continue working on your rug at home to achieve your chosen size)

Accessibility
