Nana Koizumi (Trumpet & Vocals) from Japan
Nana is a globe-trotting jazz artist known for her unique style as a “singing trumpeter,” blending instrumental mastery with heartfelt vocals. Her journey has taken her across major music cities including New York, Los Angeles, Thailand, Korea, Canada, and China where she actively sought out collaborations with local musicians through events and parties—developing a deeply rooted international sensibility along the way.In November 2022, Nana relocated to Australia to further immerse herself in the country's vibrant and diverse music scene. She quickly became part of the local jazz landscape, deepening her connection with musicians and audiences alike.
Johnson Nguyen (Keyboard)
Johnson Hong Phuc Nguyen is a pianist known for soulful, immersive performances that blend jazz fusion, R&B, neo-soul, and cinematic scorewriting. Trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, his background in composition shapes his dynamic, narrative-driven approach to the piano. He has performed at venues across Australia and Asia, drawing listeners into soundscapes that are intimate, unpredictable, and full of character.
Matthew Ling (Bass)
Matt Ling is an electric bassist and double bassist who has completed his Bachelor of Music performance at the Sydney Conservatorium, majoring in jazz studies on double bass. He was selected as the principal double bass chair for the 2024 Australian National Youth Jazz Orchestra and as the principle double bass player for the 2022 and 2023 Con Jazz Orchestra #1. Previously, he has served as the principal classical double bassist for the North West Wind Ensemble and the Castle Hill RSL Youth Wind Ensemble, winning multiple Open A and Junior A National and State Championships. Matt has learned from and performed alongside numerous international and national award-winning jazz artists. He was also the Sydney metropolitan U18 Bass Guitar champion of 2018.
