Narrative Improv
Event description
Shrek lives his happy, solitary life in the swamp... until his peaceful situation gets disrupted by the creatures "rehomed" by Lord Farquaad... The island of Motunui faces a crisis with crops failing and fish disappearing, when Moana chooses to venture into the ocean despite her father's strict rule... Woody the cowboy doll enjoys his status as Andy's longtime favorite toy, until Andy receives his flashy new Buzz Lightyear action figure...
In this workshop, we will learn the skills of narrative-focused improvisation with the goal of performing a theatre play using Kenn Adams' style in his aptly-named book "How to Improvise a Full-Length Play". If creating stories is what excites you, this workshop will help you take that passion into something you can deliver with improvisation.
We are covering both narrative improv skills and the long-form format, so this workshop will have a maximum of 12 participants to ensure all participants get enough scene time.
This workshop forms part of the 2025 PITS Annual Improv Festival and all proceeds go to supporting the growth of improvised theatre in Perth.
