Narrative mediation is a sophisticated conflict resolution and communication process rooted in the principles of narrative practices. Specifically tailored for organisations, school, and group settings, this approach is instrumental in addressing conflicts by respectfully exploring the narratives people hold about themselves and others. The overarching work in narrative mediation is to foster a more constructive and collaborative understanding of complex issues.

About the Presenter

Sekneh Beckett (MAPS), a senior registered psychologist and narrative therapist, brings over two decades of experience to her therapeutic practice. She has lectured in the Postgraduate Social Health and Applied Psychology Courses at Macquarie University, the Unit for Dispute Resolution in the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology Sydney. Sekneh is a longstanding member of the Dulwich Centre Teaching Faculty in Adelaide, the pioneers in Narrative Therapy and Community work.

In addition to her academic endeavours, Sekneh co-edited the clinical practice section of the Explorations: Journal of Narrative Practice with John Winslade who is the co-founder of Narrative Mediation. Her clinical work has gained recognition from the media, parliamentary circles, and internationally. Sekneh offers a diverse skill set encompassing therapy, teaching, consultancy, and supervision, operating across private, public, and academic domains both nationally and internationally.
