ABOUT THE TEACHERS
Tara McEntee has been improvising professionally for more than 15 years and has trained and performed with Improsaurus, The Court Jesters, Playshop and PopRox Improv! She's taught improv all over Aotearoa, and has a passion for narrative improv based on strong characters. She has been described as "a chaotic evil" improviser.
Jed Davies has been improvising around Te Whanganui a Tara since 2012, with companies like PlayShop, PopRox, The Big Hoo Haa, Soap Factory and others. Known for bold support moves, satisfying story conclusions, and 'deliciously macabre delivery' (Regional News), his work focuses on genre, playfulness, and commitment.
Austin Harrison is one of Aotearoa's most prolific improv performers, producers and teachers. He's a founding member of PopRox, a 6-time winner of Late Night Knife Fight and a Wellington theatre Award winner. Past shows include Ungartered Territory, Pudgy Mediocre White Men Solve Your Problems, and Magnus Steele and he's taught with Improv Connection, WIT and Voice Arts. He specialises in interactive and narrative work and loves the full spectrum of joy improv has to offer!
THE STAND-BY LIST
PopRox firmly believes that improv is for everyone, especially when it comes to sharing skills and knowledge. So we're offering "the stand-by list" for all our workshops in 2024. We'll giveaway any spots remaining a few days before the first workshop of the course, on a first-come-first-serve basis. No need to provide a reason, no questions asked. If the entry fee is a barrier for you to come along, then simply email poproximprov@gmail.com and we'll pop you on the SBL. Everyone on the list will be notified whether there was a place available for them 4 days before the first workshop.
