    Safe Church Awareness Workshop are interactive, awareness raising workshops covering Christian foundations of safe ministry, duty of care, vulnerable people and child protection (abuse prevention), due diligence in relation to recruitment and supervision of all church leaders and the management of program risks.

    Workshops are facilitated by trained presenters, hosted by local churches and attendance is recognised by members of the National Council of Churches in Australia Safe Church Training Agreement.

    The BUV recommends that all leaders and volunteers including pastors, elders, deacons, leadership teams, ministry leaders, pastoral carers and those working with children & youth attend a Safe Church Awareness Workshop as a pre-requisite to ministry in the local church. 

    Topics include:

    • Foundations and principles of a safe church
    • Protecting vulnerable people - definitions, indicators and response procedures
    • Information about training, recruiting and supervising safe leaders
    • How to establish and run safe environments for church ministry programs

    Certificate of Attendance provided upon request after attendance at the workshop

    Not suitable for people under 15 years.

    Arrive 9:15am for registration, to begin at 9:30am to 4pm.

    Cost: $40 includes booking fee *
